Be glad you got rid of Sampson. If he was around you would have found a way to lose 3-0 and afterwards half the team would be arguing. To prove he was right, Sampson would send 3 of the players home and have a smirk on his face as he was interviewed saying "we will get better when they buy into my system".

my facts were.. pinto used the same base that sampson used.. i still thinking the best base costa rica use to have.. was the guimaraes use..
anyways. another reason was, the referees where from the conmebol federation, colombia and peru.. its not an excuse,, but is a little bit different the kind of football concacaf has with the conmebol.
with the base we had.. i could say paraguay is a bad team,, because that match were supposed to be a real kicking ass for CR...
anyways, at least we could say we are happy with the tecnician at least he demonstrate a better football instead of sampson's match with cuba...

Odogg, don't worry, the competition is weak and this time around there are 4 potential spots, if the 4th place team can beat an Asian team. T&T have been reduced to rubble because the players don't get along with the federation/coaches. Honduras doesn't look strong at all. Jamaica made big strides about 7 years ago and since then has done little to improve. I just don't see who is going to step up behind the big two at the top so your chances aren't bad at all.
And damn Mexico looked horrible tonight. I would say they were about 80% of their top squad and they let Brazil's kids put a clinic on. They still probably finish second, but the US would dominate them if they play at that level in qualifying. The Tico squad, as poor as it is running, could play close games with them right now. Mexico looks like it is slipping to me with no real exciting young players coming up in the Mexican league, just foreigners. So don't give up hope...
